MPS will be conducting a mock emergency drill in partnership with the local Emergency Management Systems on Saturday, October 4, 2025. This is a practice exercise only—there is no real emergency.
The purpose of the drill is to ensure that our students and staff are well-prepared and know the correct safety procedures in case of an actual emergency. This also provides an adequate training exercise for our local EMS services.

Second Graders Investigate the Mystery of the Koa Tree
The second-grade students recently explored the mystery of the koa tree, a unique tree that grows in only two places on Earth. Students built and tested seed models to see how structure affects the way seeds travel—by wind, water, or animals. The hands-on activity gave students the chance to think like scientists and discover how seeds disperse to new places.

Preschool students went on a scavenger hunt today! They can't wait to sort, label and create so many things from the colorful leaves they found!

Our first graders have been learning all about germination. To see it in action, we tried sprouting marigold seeds using a damp paper towel. We’re excited to report that a few have started to sprout and grow!

Camouflaged Moths in First Grade!
This week, our first graders explored how animals use camouflage to stay safe in their environments. After learning about how moths blend in to avoid predators, the students created their own colorful moths and “hid” them all around the classroom!

The high school looks festive for Homecoming, thanks to the hardworking students!
