Please stay off the playground until August 11th as weed killer was sprayed this afternoon. Mr. Mauler went a little heavy on the blue dye so it may stay blue for a while but at least you will know what has been sprayed.

We can’t wait to see everyone this Thursday, August 7th for Kindergarten Round Up! It will be a fun morning! Parents will start in the Elementary Library going over paperwork and what to expect for the 25-26 school year with Mr. Mauler and Katie, while the kids are in Ms. DeKay’s classroom. After paperwork is complete the parents are welcome to join their child in the Kindergarten classroom. Just a reminder if you haven't already, please bring your child’s original (one with a raised seal) birth certificate that the school can copy, complete immunization records, and school physical. This paperwork is required before your child can start school. If you have questions, please contact Katie by email (katie.crisp@mullenpublicschools.org). We can't wait to see you there!

MPS continues to be enrolled in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) which allows the district to offer free breakfast and lunch to all students without requiring individual applications. This program simplifies the process for schools and families by eliminating the need for free and reduced-price meal applications. Instead, schools are reimbursed based on the percentage of students directly certified for free meals.
The maximum dollar amount charged by the district for the breakfast and lunch programs is as follows: § Breakfast Program – Grades PK-5 o Regular Price $3.00 o Second Portions $2.50 o All Future Portions $1.50 o Reduced Price $0.30
§ Breakfast Program – Grades 6-12 o Regular Price $3.50 o Second Portions $2.50 o All Future Portions $1.50 o Reduced Price $0.30
§ Lunch Program – Grades PK-5 o Regular Price $4.00 o Second Portions $2.50 o All Future Portions $1.50 o Reduced Price $0.40
§ Lunch Program – Grades 6-12 o Regular Price $5.00 o Second Portions $2.50 o All Future Portions $1.50 o Reduced Price $0.40 § Extra Milk $0.75 § Adult Lunch $6.00
Parents will want to have funding deposited into their student's accounts so the students can get second portions and more portions if they would like to order accordingly. MPS will not allow additional portions of food if the balance is minus $20 in your account. MPS will notify you if you have a negative balance. Please reach out to the elementary office with any questions and please refrain from asking school officials in public areas about lunch balances.
West Central District Health Department will be at the Hooker County Library on August 12th from 8:30-10:30 a.m. They will have vaccines (especially those required for school!

Multiple Picture Dates To Meet Your Needs!
We're doing things a little differently—Two picture opportunities will take place before the start of school, and for those who can't make it, a make-up date has been provided. This gives parents the perfect chance to help elementary and bus-riding students with hair and clothing, and it keeps us from interrupting as much valuable class time as possible. Pictures will be at the high school library.
Picture Day Dates:
📅 Wednesday, August 6 | 4:00–7:00 PM
📅 Friday, August 8 | 8:00–11:00 AM
Make-up Date and Senior Banners:
📅 Friday, August 22 | 12:30 PM
Sports Picture Date:
📅 Thursday, August 14| 2:15 PM
Class Pictures will be taken on August 19
