The high school science classes have been busy doing hands on projects this month. Pictured are the juniors with their solar powered ovens and pasta towers, Jacob doing bird research for Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and the freshmen learning about power and work. We love STEM!
Earlier this month, all MHS juniors and seniors were certified in First Aid and learned CPR. This was possible with a grant received by West Central District Health Department. The students learned lifesaving skills and how to handle emergency situations. Thanks, Trudy from WCDH for offering this vital class!

The 2nd-grade students have worked hard the last few weeks to earn a "Fort Day". They had a blast completing independent work, reading, and using their computers in their forts!
Work began today on the new geothermal greenhouse at the high school! This new addition to the school was made possible by a very generous anonymous donation to the science department. We are so thankful for this wonderful gift and can't wait to utilize this new learning tool with our students.
Another fun STEM Club where 4th-6th students leaned all about circuits. They even got to create a Circuit Turkey to take home!

50 elementary students, 25 high school helpers and 5 adults equals a great night at the FCCLA read-a-thon! Students read, played games, and had some great food!

Los estudiantes de Español have been busy! Gracias to grades 1-3 and their amazing teachers for allowing my Sophomores to read their interesting Español books.
Español III Honor Society members hosted a Dia de Los Muertos workshop and showed the 6th grade how to make Papel Picado.
Español III and IV (not pictured) are now officially dual-credit college classes through the Wesleyan Honors Academy! Thank you to all of my students for your continued support of our MPS Spanish program. ¡Buen trabajo!
