Mullen Elementary 3rd graders had a great field trip last week to the Calamus Fish Hatchery, town park in Burwell, and ice cream treat at the Hub. They were so excited to have Mr. Mauler along for the fun too!
Today was the annual race of the cardboard boats! Juniors in Earth Science and seniors in Standards Science were challenged with engineering a two passenger boat made of only cardboard and one role of duct tape. Three of seven boats made it across the pond with the winners, Justin French, Jarren Forsen, and Jacob Wingebach, making it in 58 seconds. Mr Kvanvig, after being unable to make it across in his boat last year, attempted the challenge again with passenger Mr Mauler. They were unsuccessful...much to the joy of the students watching.
